The Most Blessed Person - Hear and Anchor God's Words in Our Hearts.

May 2, 2013 - Luke 11:24-28

24-26 “When a corrupting spirit is expelled from someone, it drifts along through the desert looking for an oasis, some unsuspecting soul it can bedevil. When it doesn’t find anyone, it says, ‘I’ll go back to my old haunt.’ On return, it finds the person swept and dusted, but vacant. It then runs out and rounds up seven other spirits dirtier than itself and they all move in, whooping it up. That person ends up far worse than if he’d never gotten cleaned up in the first place.”
27 While he was saying these things, some woman lifted her voice above the murmur of the crowd: “Blessed the womb that carried you, and the breasts at which you nursed!”
28 Jesus commented, “Even more blessed are those who hear God’s Word and guard it with their lives!”
Jesus commend those who hear God's words and guard it with their lives are the most blessed person on earth. Hearing God's words but without realizing it in lives is like the one, who has been cleansed but without God's words anchored in the heart, will subsequently be occupied by the evil spirits again, thus resulting in a much desperate condition.
My Lord Jesus, I have been studying Your words for so many years, but one important thing You are teaching me nowadays is that I must learn waiting for Your guidance and leading in the transition stage of my life. There are numerous decisions that I have to make but You teach me to be still and learn watching the work of Your hands in my life. I recall in my past life how God taught me to wait for Your timing and Your way of leading my life - seeking Your will in my dating relationship with my girl friend (now my wife) within six months' time; looking for my first job after graduation within four months' time; changing my job within 2-3 years' time; recovering from my retina detachment on bed within three months' time; affirming your calling for me to be a pastor within six months' time; patiently praying and shepherding the church until it grows to maturity within few years' time;  continually praying and loving the children until they grow and know Christ within a life's time, etc.
My Lord Jesus, You are my best friend on earth. You know my impatience and lack of faith. Continue to strengthen my faith in trusting Your promise and words in my life by Your Spirit that I rest in You and actively serve Your church and people in each stage of my life.
