Jesus Powerfully Living in Us by the Spirit

January 19, 2013 - 2 Corinthians 13:3-4

3 since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. 4 For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him in our dealing with you.

Paul demonstrates again the tension of living both in weakness and in power. Christ in weakness was crucified but he lives as he resurrected by the power of God's Spirit. Similarly, Paul is weak apparently as he preaches the crucifixion of Christ, yet by the power of God's Spirit his Gospel is God's strength, and by living with Jesus he has Gods' power and authority to deal with the Corinthians believers who are disobedient to God.

My Lord, as I and the church continue to to seek for Your Presence and Power in our lives, I continue to pray that the Spirit demonstrates Your Power in dealing with our hidden sins and all kinds of disobedience to the Lord. We want to experience the power of God in converting our disobedient wills, the power of God in cleansing our sins, the power of God in healing our wounds, and the power of God in restoring our relationships with God and with each other. Let me go back to Your Gospel - the power of God, and to the Spirit who actively works in  us and shows us the real image of Jesus who lives in me.
