17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious
Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and
revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may
be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you,
the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for
us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from
the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.
Paul calls the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. Paul prays that the Holy Spirit enlightens our hearts that believers may know the hope the glorious Father calls us, the riches of the glorious inheritance God prepares for His people, and the incomparably great power God exerted on them - the same power that God raised Jesus from the dead and exalted him at His right hand in the heavenly realm. We need the Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds that we experience God by really knowing our hope, our inheritance, and the power God exerts in us.
My Holy Spirit, this is another day that I kneel down and pray to You for your enlightenment in my hearts that I really know that I am called by God to be His beloved son for loving Him and His servant for ministering to people around me. Let me know that I am storing treasure not on earth but in the heaven that is the inheritance God prepares for me when I finish my life journey. Let me experience Your power in following Your way and transforming people's lives.
