Spiritual Warfare by the Power of the Spirit through Prayer

March 16, 2013 - Ephesians 6:12

因 我 們 並 不 是 與 屬 血 氣 的 爭 戰 、 乃 是 與 那 些 執 政 的 、 掌 權 的 、 管 轄 這 幽 暗 世 界 的 、 以 及 天 空 屬 靈 氣 的 惡 魔 爭 戰 。 〔 兩 爭 戰 原 文 都 作 摔 跤 〕

¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 

Paul calls the believers to participate in a spiritual battle against the Devil who has the powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. The secular world gives us a false impression that God doesn't exist and Satan either. We believers gradually turn Christianity into a religion of activism, rules, human activities, etc. Prayer becomes a form of religious rites and neglecting the spiritual dimension of the warfare against the dark powers and spiritual enemies of God. 

My Lord, I know that this is a spiritual dimension that I also neglect in the past and Paul reminds me again that I must rely on power of prayer and the equipping of the spiritual armor to fight against our spiritual enemy - Satan. My dear Holy Spirit, I pray that You protect me by Your Presence and Power in the Gospel of Jesus. I also pray that I keep myself close to You, listening to Your voice speaking to me everyday through God's words or other means that I know that I am in Christ by the Spirit. I want to learn more about how to pray for the Kingdom of God that people and including myself can experience how the Spirit of God is working actively in God's church to lead people back to Christ and exalt our God.
