Holy Spirit - Grace and Spiritual Gifts (12-20-2012)

December 20, 2012 - 1 Corinthians 1:4-7

1:4		我 常 為 你 們 感 謝 我 的 　 神 、 因 　 神 在 基 督 耶 穌 裡 所 賜 給 你 們 的 恩 惠 ．
1:5		又 因 你 們 在 他 裡 面 凡 事 富 足 、 口 才 知 識 都 全 備 ．
1:6		正 如 我 為 基 督 作 的 見 證 、 在 你 們 心 裡 得 以 堅 固 ．
1:7		以 致 你 們 在 恩 賜 上 沒 有 一 樣 不 及 人 的 ． 等 候 我 們 的 主 耶 穌 基 督 顯 現 ．

 ⁴ I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. ⁵ For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— ⁶ God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. ⁷ Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

Thanks God that we receive grace and also spiritual gift from Him. "Grace" and "Spiritual Gift" all relate with the Spirit. Spirit prepares or sanctifies our heart to receive the grace of God. Spirit is the source of our spiritual gifts in serving the Lord. Spirit is in fact the source of our gifts in all kinds of speech and knowledge. Nevertheless, Spirit's work is founded on Christ that grace may be give to believers. Spirit also points believers and stirs up their hearts to eagerly waiting for the second coming of Jesus Christ. 

My dear Holy Spirit, you remind me that though my strength is in "knowledge" or "research type" you are the only source of my gift in knowledge, not through my own talents or temperaments unless these are to be used by the Spirit. My dear Holy Spirit, I also pray that you stir up my heart everyday that I love Jesus for his grace and also hunger for the coming of His kingdom. Amen.
