We are Saved by the Spirit's Sanctification (12-19-2012)

December 19, 2012 - 2 Thessalonians 2:13

2:13

13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

Christians are always the most blessed creatures on earth as we are loved by the Lord. God loves us not because we are more moral, more intelligent, or more beautiful than the others. On the contrary, we are the most sinful beings on earth as seen by the evils done by human beings. But God loves and chooses sinful human beings to be His children. We are like the first fruits that mark the beginning of God's salvation for the cosmos. But we are saved by the Spirit. The Spirit worked in our life and sanctified us that we could stand before the Holy God. The Spirit cleansed us and regenerated us that we could be saved.

My Spirit, I pray that your sanctifying work in my life is to be continued that I could stand  before God everyday. I ask for your cleansing, your transformation of my thoughts, my words, and my actions everyday that God's presence is real in me. My Christian life starts with my belief but more importantly with your sanctification, and must continue and also deepen in your holiness through the powerful sanctification work of the Holy Spirit. My dear Jesus, may you always have the lordship of my life through the works of the Spirit in me.
