Experiencing God as Jehovah Jireh - Fearing God and Surrendering Ourselves to Him

February 15, 2013 - Genesis 22:11-14

22:11		耶 和 華 的 使 者 從 天 上 呼 叫 他 說 、 亞 伯 拉 罕 、 亞 伯 拉 罕 、 他 說 、 我 在 這 裡 。
22:12		天 使 說 、 你 不 可 在 這 童 子 身 上 下 手 、 一 點 不 可 害 他 ． 現 在 我 知 道 你 是 敬 畏 　 神 的 了 、 因 為 你 沒 有 將 你 的 兒 子 、 就 是 你 獨 生 的 兒 子 、 留 下 不 給 我 。
22:13		亞 伯 拉 罕 舉 目 觀 看 、 不 料 、 有 一 隻 公 羊 、 兩 角 扣 在 稠 密 的 小 樹 中 、 亞 伯 拉 罕 就 取 了 那 隻 公 羊 來 、 獻 為 燔 祭 、 代 替 他 的 兒 子 。
22:14		亞 伯 拉 罕 給 那 地 方 起 名 叫 耶 和 華 以 勒 、 〔 意 思 就 是 耶 和 華 必 預 備 〕 直 到 今 日 人 還 說 、 在 耶 和 華 的 山 上 必 有 預 備 。

 ¹¹ But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

   “Here I am,” he replied.

¹² “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

   ¹³ Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. ¹⁴ So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”

The Name of the Lord is called Jehovah Jireh - The Lord will provide. Our God will provide all our needs as He is all-knowing and all-powerful. He knows our needs just like He knows the need of Abraham - He provided a ram as a substitute for Issac, which represented the future lamb of God (Christ). Abraham experienced the Name and Provision of God - Jehovah Jireh but on the condition that he fear God and surrendered himself and all he had first to God. God also invites us today to experience Him by surrendering ourselves to Him and walking after Him in a faith journey. God is all-loving -  He provides the best option for us; God is all-knowing - His will is always the right direction for us; God is all-powerful - He can enable you to follow His will. He is Jehovah-Jireh. 

My Father God, I know that You love me as much as You loved Abraham. You are also going to test me just like You tested Abraham that I may walk a faith journey and truly experience that You are Jehovah-Jireh. You provide the best option and right direction for me, and together with the strength I need to walk with You. Let me taste Your goodness today!
